This is the
19th annual Linn Gala. Funds raised are used locally for cancer patients and their
families. Additionally, funds are collected at the event to send kids with cancer or
their siblings to a special camp each year. This year we have a birthday theme, for
which you fit perfectly. Also, we are continually looking for new businesses with
which we can partner to support our silent auction efforts as well as promote those
companies and individuals who generously donate to our cause. The event is April 10,
2010.

The Kennedy PTA
will be hosting a post prom party for the seniors and their dates on May 1, 2010
from 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. at Cedar Rapids Bowling Center. There will be free
bowling, and the class has hired a hypnotist from 2:00- 4:00 a.m. This event is
strongly supported by the Kennedy administration because of the safe, substance-free
environment, providing our kids a place to gather and to have fun together.

The Lou Henry
Elementary PTO is having a Fun Fair and we are looking for raffle prizes. It is held
on May 21 at our elementary school. The proceeds from the raffle and Fun Fair are
used by the PTO to finance field trips, classroom supplies, books and special
projects.

The Mane Event is the primary fundraiser for the LM Foundation with 350 - 400 attendees. For the
past 25 years the Linn-Mar School Foundation has supported one of the fastest
growing, top quality school districts in Iowa. With the support of our giving
community, the Foundation helps ensure that Linn-Mar’s tradition of excellence
extends into the 21st century with innovative new programs and measurable success in
fundamental curriculum areas. The Linn-Mar School Foundation: 

Works with corporate and private donors to build general, endowed and designated
funds for educational programs throughout the district; 

Partners with teachers, parents and alumni to raise Smart Money in an annual fund
drive for classroom and curriculum projects; 

Brings donors and students together through scholarship funds that reward effort,
determination and service; 

Fosters relationships with the corporate giving community to ensure that work
force and community values are preserved and strengthened. 

Is creating a permanent funding source for Linn-Mar Schools by raising a
$1,000,000 endowment through major and planned gifts.
