Service, advocacy, inclusion, family, and community are what The Arc is about. The Arc of East Central Iowa offers multiple programs and services in eight counties in Iowa. We deliver high quality programs that produce results. More importantly, we improve the quality of life for individuals and families affected by mental retardation, epilepsy, autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, ADHD, and brain injury. We believe in building better lives for people with disabilities and their families.
The Arc of East Central Iowa serves our community by providing advocacy and services, which help people with developmental disabilities and their families choose and realize their goals in life. We work to reduce the incidence of developmental disabilities through education and public awareness.
The Arc of East Central Iowa started in 1953 when families came together to gain services for their children who were affected by mental retardation. Since our inception, we have worked closely with families in the community. Today, The Arc provides advocacy and service to thousands of individuals and families in East Central Iowa. |
